Governments, NGOs, and the media say that misinformation and hate speech undermine democracy, but they don’t. What threatens democracy is the war on free speech by governments, NGOs, and the media. The future rests upon our ability to resist rising totalitarianism. Watch as the University of Austin’s CBR Chair of Politics, Censorship, and Free Speech Michael Shellenberger presents his reporting...

I'm a huge fan of Prof Fryer. I studied Economics until I was 18, to a pretty basic level by comparison, but nothing like this. I respect anyone who keeps trying despite adversity. He's also right in his analyses.

When she brought up the point about the fact that it’s liberalism not leftism driving this ideology. That’s when I truly became her fan. Because that’s exactly what I am saying. I’ve recently left that ideology and I can absolutely see extreme liberalism at work. It’s the “you can be whatever you want” in spite of logic and evidence. It’s exactly what is driving the fat “liberation” ideology. I’m on the hard left and I will remain so until my end. Because worker’s rights, anti capitalism, women’s rights and LGB rights are more important than the fictitious agenda of the T+.

We are seeing the death of mainstream media. Give it ten years. They'll all be gone. Because we all know they lie.Independent journalism is the future. It is almost here. Schellenberger, Taibbi, Greenwald, Weiss, they're leading the way.

The problem with corporations is that they're cowardly. They cut and run from any controversy that may hurt their quarterly earnings. There is no value system in corporations beyond increasing shareholder value. That's not a bad thing. But when the Blackrocks, StateStreets, and Vanguard threaten them with social engineering goals, they'll jump right in line.

Black women carrying drugs makes sense. It is completely rational for black male drug dealers to have helpers if they know they're more likely to be searched. It makes sense that black male drug dealers choose helpers who they trust.

Garbage in. Garbage out. Its not complicated. African Americans were not legally full citizens until the 1970s. The legal system, economic system, housing, labor, healthcare, etc promoted and protected white Americans and punished Black Americans. Consequently, there are huge disparities in policing, in housing, in education, etc. Most white Americans arent willing to make the sacrifices required to get this thing right.

Interesting to me that he's talking about a social penalty for black kids doing well in school. I grew up, in Canada, very white, and there was 300% a social penalty for doing well in school. All the way from kindergarten to grade 13. It generally earned you teacher's pet status but the kids in class? Hated you and gave you grief. So, all I'm saying is, I'd argue that that social cost was exclusively black kids.

Judged from this lecturing process, Niall became crystalized more as an academic proxy for liberal imperialism or even propaganda than a ideaology neutral economic-political scholar. It's a pity and I won't treat him as esteemed as before. Compared with Prof. John Mearsheimer, he was more like a politician rather than a political scientist and authentic historian. You could have a political stand and ideaology, but your analysis and theory should be developed and conducted more neutrally and unbiasedly.

it's bullshit to say US politicians believed at that time Soviet Union was only a transienti force in the world. It's purely hindsight wisdom. If Gorbachev had not been so naive to surrender CCCP's power to nobody, Soviet Union should have existed and the world would have been different.

Using War to frame the current global order and international relations as well as that in the near future, is actually itself a kind of conpiracy or more tactically decribed a strategic preparation from US to solve its own internal deadlock both ideaologically, monetarily and economically. Niall, one of the famous histrical writer who is also my favorite scholar, unfortunately, either dictated or out of the ambition to be the most influential liberal imperialist, emerged to be a academic proxy of the Anglo-Saxen regime.

Brazil is a really bad example of what censorship is. Free speech ends when you yell fire in a crowded theater. Free speech ends when someone who has already staged one coup is actively trying to stage another It's my understanding that Bolsinaro illegally came into power by his party falsely accusing Lula da Silva of corruption and then having him thrown into prison in a bogus politically motivated trial. This allowed Bolsinaro to take power in Brazil. After several years in prison da Silva was exonerated. Bolsinaro has been actively trying to stage another coup and the X platform has been a launching pad for a lot of it. With that being the case, you would think that Lula should have some leeway to protect himself from more of Bolsinaro's nefarious activities by not allowing Bolsinaro to stage another coup and not using X for his illegal activities.

Diversity of informed thought is what's needed. So much of what Winston misses is that the debates he talks about are full of fear and religiosity that they muddy the goals of freedom of speech on purpose. They are bad faith arguments, which Winston is also guilty of. Kudos for being an advocate for freedom of speech, but he's not on the mark.

I think what you might be encountering when university students say that they don’t feel comfortable saying in class what they really believe is that a lot of people really hold racist, sexist, homophobic, or other reprehensible beliefs, and when they voice them in class, it they get called out for their bigotry. Also, you’re kind of giving the game away when you say that excessive liberalism wasn’t the problem discussed in The Treason of The Intellectuals in the 1920s aren’t you?

As a research scientist in earth science, I can confirm that the UN’s Anthropogenic Global Warming “theory” is not a theory and not supported by the science yet most scientists go along with this fraud. Critical science has been corrupted and brave scientists speaking the truth are defunded and even fired from their jobs. That is why most remain silent in the face of this tyranny that afflicts the entire western world. And so it is with chemtrails or geoengineering that is poisoning the air we breathe and the food we eat. All you have to do is look up and watch a blue sky turned grey while the life-giving sun is blocked by this demonic war on life itself.
